When You Were Mine 

(A Moreno Brother's novella)

Hello everyone! Well as promised last night today you get a teaser of Alex. Let me clarify. I said Alex because this isn't an actual new teaser of the story. This is a teaser of "Alex." A teaser of his cover. We all know what the Always Been Mine cover looks like right? In case any of you need a refresher here he is in all his glory.     

Well in keeping with tradition. Just like I gave you more Angel and Sarah in the cover to their follow up novel, you will get more Alex in his next book. ;)

Another clarification. When You Were Mine is not a follow up to Alex and Valerie's story, rather a prequel to their story. You've all heard about what they were like in college right? I don't have a blurb for you yet but I do have a few quotes from the other characters in some of the past stories that can give you a hint of what you're in for. In case you need any reminding. 

From Angel in Forever Yours:

“Aren’t your worried about Valerie seeing the photos of you with those girls?”

Angel looked up just in time to see his brother’s face go hard. “I don’t ask her what she does when I’m not around.”

“Why is that?” Angel asked, even more exasperated now at how unfair it was that Alex didn’t seem as worried as Angel felt. “Because it sure as shit pisses you off to see her with other guys.”

Alex didn’t say anything; he just got in bed, pulling the blankets over him and shrugged. Angel would never get it. He’d never be able to deal with the possibility of Sarah hanging out with other guys when he wasn’t around in that type of atmosphere, especially if she was a flirt like Valerie. As much of a hothead as his brother was, Angel couldn’t for the life of him figure out how he did it.

“Doesn’t it bother you to think she might be with someone else when you’re not—?”

“I don’t ask because I don’t wanna know, all right?” Alex snapped suddenly, officially sounding as agitated as Angel felt. “Now shut off the lights and get your ass in bed. Tomorrow’s gonna be a long enough day as it is.”

From Sarah in Forever Yours:

Sara turned to her with a disapproving glare. “I’ve already told you. You and Alex can insist you’re not exclusive until you’re blue in the faces. Both of you are equally and ridiculously, I might add, obvious about how pissed you get when hearing about the other one possibly hooking up with someone else. I will not take you with me to meet my brother.” Sarah closed out the photo and her laptop. “How awkward would that be if you two actually hit it off?”

From Eric in Sweet Sofie:

Angel ran out in the street, and Alex threw the football at him. A car turned into the cul-de-sac and slowed. Angel moved out of the way, smiling at the driver. When it was close enough, he saw it was Valerie, Sarah’s cousin. Eric wasn’t surprised she was still coming around. She and Alex had been on and off since high school. Alex put up an act that their relationship was just for fun, but as much as Mr. Tough Guy played it down, Eric saw the way he looked at her when they were together. He wasn’t fooling anyone.

  

And finally as Romero so nicely puts it in Romero:

“No, I’m driving. Valerie didn’t bring her car,” Isabel sighed. “But she is taking long. I hope she’s okay.”

“Why wouldn’t she be?”

She seemed apprehensive but finally said, “I think she was upset about something she and Alex talked about.”

“Ah,” Romero nodded, remembering all the drama those two had gone through over the years. “The never-ending booty call.”

“Is that what he calls it?”

“No.” He smirked at her murderous glare. “It’s what I call it. Those two have been going back and forth forever. They should just get it together or get it over with.”

In short. You guys are in for a wild one! I did share a couple of teasers already so before I give you a tease of the cover, for those of you who might've missed these teasers here they are.

Teaser 1:

Just like that, her heart was already beating faster as his intense eyes stared into hers. She knew he was going to kiss her and she was going to let him. He did. Softy. Sweetly. And she kissed him back.

 "Why do you get so crazy?" he whispered.

 She pulled her lips away from his pushing her hand against his chest again. "Why do I get so crazy? What about you and your bulldog? You know that little tag team thing you guys pull every time you see me talking to another guy or even when you do it on your own is getting old, Alex. You can't just—"

 "Yes I can," he said immediately pressing his big body against hers then traced her lips with his tongue. "And you know I will," he nipped her bottom lip. "Every time." He kissed her deeper this time, longer. Like he usually did when they were about to make love, making her tingle in all the right places at that most inopportune moment. He finally eased up and came up for air. "And for the record I've never asked Romero to do anything." He laughed against her lips. "You know that guy. That's all him."

Teaser 2: 

"Why are you here?" she demanded.

"I wanna talk to you?" he asked hopefully.

"No," her response was too quick—abrupt. "I'm busy now. Try me another time."

Okay maybe he deserved that. But he knew she wasn't busy. He knew he had to convince her to hear him out. Alex was determined to say everything he came here to say to her tonight. And then he saw it. The movement behind her. His eyes zeroed in on a guy sitting at her small kitchen table looking equally as relaxed as Valerie texting something on his phone and there were two glasses of wine on the table.

Alex took him in for another second from top to bottom as the slow boil inside him began to bubble. The guy put his phone down then reached for the bottle of wine and poured them each a little more.

On instinct Alex put his hand on the door in case she even thought of trying to slam the door on his face. That wasn't happening now. And any hope of this night ending amicably like he'd been optimistic about was instantly squashed. He turned to Valerie whose earlier incensed eyes looked a little panicked now. "Who the fuck is that?"
