Frequently Asked Questions & Announcements!
There are a lot of questions that I seem to get asked quite often so I've compiled a list of them here. If there is any question I didn't answer or anything you have further questions about feel free to comment on my blog or email me at EliReyesbooks@Yahoo.com But check here first. I will update as I get more repeat questions and add it here.
UPDATED June 2014!!
Will you be writing Felix's story? It's written guys and I can't tell you just HOW excited I am about it! =D When will it be released? As of right now the tentative upload date is November 13, 2014. Stay tuned for the cover reveal coming in a few months, teasers and for the first time ever I will be have (ARC's available for one of my indie books) There will be a very limited amount of which I will have bloggers sign up for and do a few giveaways for readers as well. So stay tuned for all that! For those of you who may be wondering who Felix is? Go check out Gio's book! For those of you who remember him but have mixed feelings because of his role in Gio, all I can say is TRUST me. Might I add the cover for Felix is PHENOMENAL. I can hardly wait to for you guys to see it!
First of all even though these stories are already out I STILL get asked, will there be a story for Vince and Rose? Brandon? Will there be more Sarah & Angel? The answer to this is YES and they're all done and published! Here is my Goodreads author profile with a list of all my titles that are available to purchase.
Will there be more Moreno books? More 5th St? More Fate? Yes, yes and yes. The first question up there ^ answers the 5th Street one. The fifth book in my 5th Street series Felix is coming in November 2014. When You Were Mine is tentatively scheduled to be released this fall. Exact release date TBA. And I have another Moreno novella "Tangled" coming in time for the holidays. So stay tuned for all those announcements, cover reveals and not to mention a few more surprises. ;)
For a tiny peek of Alex & Valerie's upcoming novella When You Were Mine, an Always Been Mine prequel you can read the tiny teaser I shared last week RIGHT HERE!
As for more in the Fate series? Absolutely. Sydney and Lorenzo have their own stories coming no ATA at the moment but check back I'll make announcements as soon as I know more. But there could be more to the Moreno Spinoff series in the future. Remember this guy? ;) If you don't remember him go read Forever Yours. It's still free right now but won't be for long!! I'm not promising anything but I will say I never say never anymore. I have been asked often enough that there is a story beginning to brew. ;)
Is there more Desert Heat coming? YES! If you haven't already read the first in the series it is currently on sale for $2.99 and since this is my traditionally published book I have idea how long it will be at this discounted price. So if you haven't already go download Desert Heat and get to know the Santiago Brothers!
Will your books ever be made into movies? As of yet Hollywood has not come calling but I can dream right? The process for turning a book into a movie is quite complicated from what I'm told and one that I'm not familiar with at all. But y'all know me if anything like that would happen you guys would be the first to know I promise. I'll post here in big shouty capitals the moment anything like that happens. =D
Will Nellie get her own happy ending? Yes she already has and you can read about it now in Abel (5th Street #4)
Which of your alphas/books is your favorite? Asking me this is like asking a mother choose her favorite child. I poured my heart, sweat and tears into each and every story. But I will say I probably had the most fun writing (only because I remember laughing so much every time I read the same certain scenes that STILL make me laugh) is Romero. He is also, as everyone who has read the entire series or even all my books knows, my MOST alpha of them all. But idk... I have another Alex Moreno story coming.. in this one he is younger and less in control of his temper. So it's still very hard to say. ;) Plus I'm always writing and have so many more coming I'll never be able to choose just one.
What date is the next book coming out? I'll never be able to give an exact date because not only does something always happen that seems to throw a wrench in my plans but beyond letting everyone know once a book is uploaded Amazon and B&N have control over when a book actually goes live. But I always have a rough estimate of around what month I foresee it being ready and I will at least give you guys that. =)
What is the next book we can expect you to release? When You Were Mine. This fall! Exact release date TBA! But the cover reveal is coming July 23d! Hopefully I'll have more info by then as far as a more accurate time of release.
Updated 9/22/13 Why aren't your books available on paperback? Will they ever be? ALL my books are available on paperback via Amazon and CreateSpace. They are also now available on audiobooks as well. =) (with the exception of Abel, Breaking Brandon & Forever Yours)
Are your books available in any other ebook stores other than Amazon & Nook? Yes they are available through Smashwords, iTunes, and Kobo ebooks.
Does your series have to be read in order? No. ALL my books can be read as stand alones However while you can read each book individually and I've written them all so they can stand alone without you being lost if you haven't read the others, I have been told it's a much better experience to have read them in order so that you have a better feel and become even more acquainted with all the characters with each book you read. And to avoid some minor spoilers about the side characters stories.
Reading order for The Moreno Brothers
Reading order for 5th Street
Reading order for Fate
Many more announcements to come, including an exciting one regarding 5th Street! ;)
Do you respond to your comments and messages on your blog as well as your fan page? I try to. I really do. For those of you who have posted in the past you know that I really do but there are many times when my characters have me tied down in the cave for DAYS at a time. So please be patient with me!
What advice would you give aspiring writers?/I've written a book and want to self publish can you give me advice on where to start? I've read this often and I have to say it is probably the most important thing to expand your creativity and level of what to but also what not to do in order to write a good story. Write a lot but read even more.
As far as where to start. First of all be sure that you've had some input on your writing before you just put it out there. You may be in for a very rude awakening. I say this kindly because when I first wrote Forever Mine YEARS ago. I thought we were good to go. I decided to try a few free critique sites. I won't tell you how bad my writing used to be because quite honestly it's embarrassing. I'll just say this I came across one of the very first drafts of it that I hadn't seen in so long and I couldn't stop blushing it was that bad. But I'm glad now that I had the feedback from other writers, some of which are professors and had some very valuable advice and input. Their are many sites my favorite is Critique Circle. You can trade critiques with other writers. Very VERY helpful I highly recommend it.
As for self publishing there are many many resources on line. Amanda Hocking has some great advice over on her blog on everything she knows about publishing. She mentions reading Konrath's blog post A newbies guide to publishing. I agree it's a must read for beginners. Jamie McGuire has a post on this as well. Very informative and like her I CANNOT stress enough. Never ever EVER pay to be represented or published. They all get paid when you get paid. Nothing upfront from you to them anyway. And here is another great MUST READ post for aspiring writers, by Author Steph Campbell on "things she knows" about writing!
On a personal level, my advice to anyone who TRULY believes in their dream of becoming a writer and doing it for a living. Never EVER give up. Self-doubt is the number one killer of creativity/dreams. It'll never go away. No matter how big and popular your books get. The only thing you can do is crush it down to a barely audible whisper with perseverance. Believe in your dream and follow it! DO IT!
