Frequently Asked Questions
There are a lot of questions that I seem to get asked quite often so I've compiled a list of them here. If there is any question I didn't answer or anything you have further questions about feel free to comment on my blog or email me at EliReyesbooks@Yahoo.com But check here first. I will update as I get more repeat questions and add it here.
I just noticed that I had the email address where you could send your questions typed in wrong. I had a . instead of a @ so for those of you who may've sent an email and never got a response. I'm so sorry I never got! it!
Updated 4/1/13 Will you be writing Felix's story? Yes. When will you release? Thats a tough one I have several books ahead of his I still need to write but I will keep you guys updated.
Updated 9/22/13 Will there be a story for Vince and Rose? Sydney? Brandon? What's next now that Abel is done? First of all I know the Vince and Rose is an older question but I will still answer it because even though I've written and published Fate Vince and Rose's story I STILL get the question a lot so just to be clear. Vince and Rose do have their own story and has been available for almost a year. Here is the the Amazon link but it's available everywhere including on paperback.
Second Yes Brandon and Sydney both have their stories coming up in the Fate series. Brandon will be up first. You can add his book to your Goodreads shelf HERE.
Will your books ever be made into movies? As of yet Hollywood has not come calling but I can dream right? The process for turning a book into a movie is quite complicated from what I'm told and one that I'm not familiar with at all. But y'all know me if anything like that would happen you guys would be the first to know I promise. I'll post here in big shouty capitals the moment anything like that happens. =D
Updated 9/13 How many books will be included in the 5th Street series? Right now the first 4 are available and I have another one planned for Felix. Release date TBA
Will Nellie get her own happy ending? Yes and you can read about it now in Abel (5th Street #4)
New Which of your alphas/books is your favorite? Asking me this is like asking a mother choose her favorite child. I poured my heart, sweat and tears into each and every story. But I will say I probably had the most fun writing (only because I remember laughing so much every time I read the same certain scenes that STILL make me laugh) is Romero. He is also, as everyone who has read the entire series or even all my books knows, my MOST alpha of them all.
Will you write another book about Angel and Sarah? This is probably the one I get the most. While I'm flattered that you guys like their story so much you want more, the simplest answer to that is NO. I just can't put them through another entire book of conflicts and heartache. Haven't they been through enough? *sobs!* And the answer to my own question is not quite. For you Sarah and Angel diehards who can't seem to get enough of them if you haven't already read Making You Mine, you'll be happy to know it includes a Sarah and Angel 11k word short story at the end. =D New 9/22/13 *sigh* A story has been lingering and haunting me in my sleep, in the shower, while I drive and it looks like we JUST may be getting more of these two after all. Stay tuned!!
When is the next book coming out? I'll never be able to give an exact date because not only does something always happen that seems to throw a wrench in my plans but beyond letting everyone know once a book is uploaded Amazon and B&N have control over when a book actually goes live. But I always have a rough estimate of around what month I foresee it being ready and I will at least give you guys that. =)
Updated 9/22/13 What and is the next book coming out? Breaking Brandon (Fate #2) is up next! Release date TBA!
Is Sal's story really the last in the series? It is but as I mentioned above I am working on a spin off series and you can rest assured the Moreno brother characters will all make appearances so you will continue to revisit your favorites. =D New 9/22/13 Once again things have changed and it looks like we have more Moreno stories coming! Stay tuned!!
Updated 9/22/13 What is after The Moreno Brothers/5th Street? Up next is Breaking Brandon (Fate #2) After that I have a *surprise* in early 2014 and then in May of 2014 I have a BRAND NEW story. Unrelated to anything I have out now called Desert Heat. It is my debut trad published book and hopefully the first of many more to come. You can read the blurb and add it to your TBR list on GoodReads HERE. After that I have many stories in my head but hard to tell this far ahead what is next at that point. But I will be back to update as soon as I know!
Updated 9/22/13 Why aren't your books available on paperback? Will they ever be? ALL my books are available on paperback via Amazon and CreateSpace. They are also (with the exception of Abel) Now available on audiobooks as well. =)
Are your books available in any other ebook stores other than Amazon & B&N? Yes they are available through Smashwords, iTunes, Diesel ebooks and Kobo ebooks.
Does your series have to be read in order? No. ALL my books can be read as stand alones However while you can read each book individually and I've written them all so they can stand alone without you being lost if you haven't read the others, I have been told it's a much better experience to have read them in order so that you have a better feel and become even more acquainted with all the characters with each book you read.
Do you respond to your comments and messages on your blog as well as your fan page? I try to. I really do. For those of you who have posted in the past you know that I really do but as the series gets more popular it's beginning to get a little overwhelming to keep up so if there is a question that is being asked by many of you what I'll do rather than answer it 20 different times is I'll post it here so check back here often. Which leads me to the next question that I'm beginning to get a lot. I may have to move this next question up to replace the "Will there be another Angel and Sarah story?" since that one has already been answered.
What advice would you give aspiring writers?/I've written a book and want to self publish can you give me advice on where to start? I've read this often and I have to say it is probably the most important thing to expand your creativity and level of what to but also what not to do in order to write a good story. Write a lot but read even more.
As far as where to start. First of all be sure that you've had some input on your writing before you just put it out there. You may be in for a very rude awakening. I say this kindly because when I first wrote Forever Mine YEARS ago. I thought we were good to go. I decided to try a few free critique sites. I won't tell you how bad my writing used to be because quite honestly it's embarrassing. I'll just say this I came across one of the very first drafts of it that I hadn't seen in so long and I couldn't stop blushing it was that bad. But I'm glad now that I had the feedback from other writers, some of which are professors and had some very valuable advice and input. Their are many sites my favorite is Critique Circle. You can trade critiques with other writers. Very VERY helpful I highly recommend it.
As for self publishing there are many many resources on line. Amanda Hocking has some great advice over on her blog on everything she knows about publishing. She mentions reading Konrath's blog post A newbies guide to publishing. I agree it's a must read for beginners. Jamie McGuire has a post on this as well. Very informative and like her I CANNOT stress enough. Never ever EVER pay to be represented or published. They all get paid when you get paid. Nothing upfront from you to them anyway. And here is another great MUST READ post for aspiring writers, by Author Steph Campbell on "things she knows" about writing!
On a personal level, my advice to anyone who TRULY believes in their dream of becoming a writer and doing it for a living. Never EVER give up. Self-doubt is the number one killer of creativity/dreams. It'll never go away. No matter how big and popular your books get. The only thing you can do is crush it down to a barely audible whisper with perseverance. Believe in your dream and follow it! <3
Team Jacob or Team Edward? Jacob of course. He so could play one of my Moreno's in a movie version! Sorry Edward lovers nothing against him. It's just that given a choice between a cold vampire and hot blooded, hot tempered LITERALLY Alpha Male? Swoon!!! lol
