The Moreno Brothers Series - Update
The Moreno Brothers:
If you haven't met them let me introduce you:
Angel: The youngest, the high school heart throb who falls head over heals for the new girl in school. But boy will sparks fly when he finds out what she's been keeping from him.
Alex : The middle brother, but physically the biggest and the heart stopping Alpha of the three. He thinks he's over his old flame but has another think coming when he's reunited with her.
Sal: Oldest, most driven, a bit anal and prides himself in being much more in control of his emotions than his younger brothers. That is, until he meets the one that makes him realize just what a Moreno he really is. But that's a good thing right? ; )
For those of you who have met them and have sent me messages/emails/comments asking what's going on with the series? Whats coming and when?
Angels story Forever Mine currently published and available on Amazon US , UK , DE <-- Germany! B&N Nook & Smashwords for only $.99!
Alex's story Always Been Mine is now available on Kindle US UK DE <-- Germany Read a blurb here and excerpt here.
Sal's story is still a work in progress but I anticipate his story to be the longest in the series. So this one may not be done until late 2011 or early 2012. IN THE MEANTIME! Between Alex and Sal's story you can still get your fix of the brothers in "Sweet Sofie" Now available on Amazon!

Oh yes! Thanks to my wonderful readers who planted the seed about wanting to see Romero and Isabel's story, the seed blossomed into something wickedly sexy and hasn't stopped ever since. If you thought the Moreno Brothers were hot-head, alpha's, try one that holds NOTHING back. So he's a little crude with a temper to match. He's also sexy as hell, but there's a vulnerable and very possessive side of him he didn't even know existed until he meets Izzy. His story is NOW available on Amazon! I will update when it's available on other channels! =)

My interview with Night Owl reviews!
Please tell us your latest news!
I'm really excited that I'm finally done with Always Been Mine the 2nd in the Moreno Brothers series. But I'm even more excited that I decided to go ahead and write a novella about their little sister Sofia. "Sweet Sofi." I'm almost done writing that one now and will send out to Beta readers in the next few weeks.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
If I had to do it all over again I would definitely go back and make sure I was prepared before releasing. As a first timer I did make a lot of newbie mistakes. My cover has gone through 4 changes and I've since had an editor clean it up significantly. I'm looking to a much smoother ride the second time around when I release the second in The Moreno Brother series.
Do you have a specific writing style?
I think my style is just to keep it as real as possible. I like my characters to be as true to life as I can make them. I hate cheesy and I obsess about being predictable. So always count on a few twists in my stories.

I've been awarded the Memetastic Award!

Did you say an award? For me? I'm just….I'm just speechless. Ooh, this is such an honor. I just wish Roger were here to share it with me.
Goodness I don't even know what to say...I was so unprepared... *fans herself blushing* The award was bestowed upon me by none other than Mystery thriller author;paranormal investigator Linda Prather Linda really, you should have given me more time to prepare. *Pulls out list of people to thank.*... Oh but wait.. First the rules before I give my twenty-five minute acceptance speech.. give or take a few minutes depending on if I do the dance or not.
1. I must proudly display the absolutely wonderful, although rather strange, graphic in a post. Check
2. I must list 5 things about myself, and 4 of them must be bold-faced lies. My readers are to guess which one is the truth by posting a comment on My blog. Check
3. I must pass on this awesomely, prestigious award to 5 deserving bloggers. Check
Well, if I must--but please don't hate me, I'm not really bad, I'm just drawn that way.
Sooo...Here are Five Funtabulous things about myself, one of which is actually true:
1. I'm a crime fighting kick a$$ soccer-mom ninja.
2. Even after all these years I maintain my teenage girlish figure and me and my fourteen-year-old share clothes. And she just LOVES it! =D
3. My visits to my grandpa as a child included days of driving then riding a donkey (everyone else rode horses I was the youngest) for the last two hours because there were no roads to my dads childhood ranch.
4 I could've made it to the figure skating Olympics back in the early 90's but I was injured last second. Now I walk with a limp. That damn Tanya Harding!!
5. Forever Mine is currently number 2 on the New York best sellers list. *keeping fingers crossed. Maybe tomorrow I'll be number one!
Now, I must pass on this award to the following lucky recipients.
Can I have a drum roll please?
I’m so excited about this. I feel like I’m giving away...well...a member of the family, after all we comic characters must stick together.
But, truth told, I can't wait to see what the following fantabulous people list as their Funtabulous Five Facts, one of which is truthful:
Valerie Maarten author of The Gift of Joy & Second Chances
Joleene Naylor Author and cover artist extraordinaire.
Edie Ramer Author of such favorites as Seventh Dimension, Cattitude and her latest Dragon Blues
Heather McAlendin Author of such sizzling books as Valentines day and SleepWalker
Dana Taylor Aint Love Grand, Devil Moon, and Mystic Romance... just to name a few!
Okay so now for my speech.. *clears throat*.. the music starts playing .. Hey!! My Forever 41 gown hasn't even been photographed!! .. I'm gettin booted off the stage, Linda! This is an outrage!!! I had a montage and everything!
Feathers ruffled and all,,, please comment and I doubt ANYONE will guess which fact is true... muah hahahaha!

#SampleSunday - Forever Mine - Holding back
The set up for today's Sample: Sarah has spent her first incredible weekend with Angel. She still can't get over that he actually want's to be exclusive with her. And she's still reasoning that she doesn't have to tell him her best friend waiting for her back home is a guy. After telling him about her mom being in jail, he lets her know how he feels about her being honest.
She glanced at the clock; it was 10:30 pm. She was almost out the room, on her way to brush her teeth, when she heard her phone ring. Her face lit up when she saw it was Angel. She answered it with a smile.
“Hi, Angel.”
“Hey.” His voice was a little somber. “Sorry I’m calling so late. I couldn’t stop thinking about you. I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I still feel like an ass about today.”
“No, you shouldn’t.” She clutched the phone. “Actually, I feel a lot better now that I told you.”
“Good,” he said. “’Cause I want you to know you can to tell my anything.”
Sarah's heart sank. She knew she should’ve told him about Sydney already, but truth was she was beginning to wonder if he really needed to know. Valerie was right, she decided, about guy’s being territorial and Angel was making that pretty clear. She was certain now, especially after hearing his take on guys and girls being friends, that he wouldn’t understand her relationship with Sydney.
She reasoned with herself that he probably would never get the chance to meet Syd anyway. She’d already decided to keep the subject of Syd to a minimum. Still, she couldn’t help feeling deceitful.
She pushed Sydney to the back of her mind. There were other things she needed to get clear with him. “Listen, Angel.” She sat down on her bed. “I’m glad you called. With all the talk about my mom today, I completely forgot to talk to you about tomorrow.”
“What about tomorrow?”
“Well, I know we have an understanding now, but I don’t want that to change things at school.”
He was silent for a moment, but she heard the unmistakable change in his tone when he spoke again. “You don’t want anyone at school to know you’re seeing someone?”
“No.” She was surprised that he would even think that. “I just don’t want you to change anything you normally do, for me. I know how close you are with your friends. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of time to spend together after school and on weekends, there’s no need for me to cut in on your time with your friends at school.”
She really hoped he’d understand. The last thing she wanted to do was suffocate him. After all, this was his school, his friends, she was the outsider.
The truth was, she wasn’t entirely sure she was going be able to handle this. It was well known the way the girls, especially Dana, acted around Angel. Just the thought of watching another girl throw herself all over him now made her cringe.
“Hey,” he said. “I don’t have a problem with everything staying the same as far as you hanging out with your friends, and me with mine. But in case there’s any doubt, I wasn’t planning on keeping this understanding a secret.”
Sarah felt her heartbeat speed up. For the first time the reality of it all was sinking in. This was really happening, and with none other than Angel Moreno.
“Oh, I know that,” she said. “That’s not what I meant at all. I just don’t want to smother you Angel. I want you to still have your space.”
“You have it all wrong, Sarah,” he said “If anyone is gonna have to watch the smothering, it’s gonna be me. In case you haven’t noticed, I just can’t get enough of you.”
His words sent shivers up and down her spine. She felt the exact same way, yet Angel didn’t seem scared. She, on the other hand, was terrified. This kind of happiness was uncommon in her world. She wasn’t used to it and in some ways almost felt guilty about feeling so happy.
“You have to stop saying things like that.”
“Why?” He sounded very serious. “I say what I feel, and I want you to do the same. Don’t ever hold anything back.”
“Okay.” She loved the way he made her feel so uninhibited. “Can I tell you what I’m feeling right now?”
“Of course.”
She bit her bottom lip. “I’d like to crawl right through the phone right now, and kiss you all over.”
She heard him groan. “That’s not fair. Okay, let’s get one thing straight, things like that you can only say when I have you right in front of me. Damn, how am I supposed to fall asleep now?”
Sarah giggled. “Sweet dreams, Angel.”
“Yeah, you know what I’ll be dreaming of.”
“I’m sorry,” she said, still giggling. “I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
He groaned again. “Sarah, baby, I know you mean well, but that’s not helping my situation over here.”
She forced herself to stop giggling; reminding herself to not make promises she couldn’t keep. She’d already seen firsthand how hard, almost painful it was for him to restrain himself. Not that she had any doubts he would, but it was cruel to tease him like that.
She stared at the phone for a while after they’d hung up, and wondered how she, herself would get any sleep tonight.

#SampleSunday- Always Been Mine (wip)
This is a sample of my upcoming novel Always Been Mine the second in The Moreno Brothers series. It's still a WIP and unedited so please excuse any errors or typo's.
The set up:
Alex thought he was over his ex Valerie until they were reunited briefly at a wedding shower just weeks earlier. Ever since he hasn't been able to stop thinking about her. Unfortunately she informed him she'd moved on and is seeing someone new. In this scene he decides to join a few friends at a bar. He's surprised to see Valerie's roommate Isabel is there with his friend Romero.
Romero ordered everyone a round then turned to Isabel. “You think Valerie’s ready for another one?”
Alex’s eyes were immediately on the two beer bottles in front of Isabel. Romero was holding his so the other was obviously Valerie’s.
“Just bring her another one,” Romero told the waitress.
Isabel glanced at Alex, and now he knew what she’d been troubled by. She turned away quickly to talk to Sofia who was getting comfortable in the seat next to her. The anxiety was already making its way to his stomach. He hated that damn feeling. He turned casually back to the rest of the restaurant hoping to get the first glimpse of her out of the way before she was too close.
“So how’d they get you out of your cave, big guy?”
Alex shrugged sitting on the edge of one of the bar stools around the pool table.
“It was time for a break.”
“You think?” Eric asked. “Sofi says you practically live there, now.”
Romero leaned over the pool table and took a shot. “What’s wrong with you, man? When’s the last time you went out?”
Alex didn’t even remember. He’d been so caught up this past year he couldn’t even remember the last time he’s had sex. That fact alone spoke volumes about the meaningfulness of the experience.
The waitress walked in with their beers. She handed him a bottle with the kind of smile he was used to getting from women. He reciprocated out of habit, but went back to looking for Valerie. Romero got busy paying the waitress. Alex took advantage and continued to search for Valerie. His anxiety spiked when he spotted her near the entrance. Not just because she looked even more amazing than when he’d seen her at the shower but because she wasn’t alone.
The sight of her with a guy close enough to kiss her made him squeeze his beer bottle. Alex took a deep breath and a bitter swig of the beer. This was not his idea of taking a break. He felt more angst at that moment than he had in all the weeks since the shower.
No way he was he spending the evening around Valerie and her new man. He took a longer drink of his beer. He’d be out of here as soon as he was done. Still gripping the bottle tightly he had to concentrate on not breaking it. As much as he hated the sight he couldn’t move his eyes away from her and the guy.
The guy held her wrist but not in the way a boyfriend holds his girls hand. The moment he saw Valerie pull her hand away defiantly he was on his feet. He welcomed the new tension that seeped through him. Unlike the tension he felt from seeing her with another guy he knew exactly how to deal with this one.
They weren’t talking they were arguing and Alex should be happy. Instead he went on an instant state of alert. Her boyfriend’s aggressive expression and the fact that he tried to grab her hand again was all Alex needed. He put his beer down and started toward them.
